Tips For Writing Successful Policies

Policies on a site are used to protect you and your content, as well as protecting your readers. So how do you write a successful policy page? There are a lot of things to consider when writing rules and guidelines. Most of these policies will be designed specifically for you, so every policy page will, and should be, unique.
Here are a few things to consider when writing policies:

  • Legal requirements (varies by country)
  • Style, tone, and organization
  • Relevant policies
  • Short versus long
  • Understandable terms

Jeff Chandler wrote an article on WP Tavern discussing the use of a helpful and free favicon generator called Favicons are small images, usually 16×16 pixel, that are used for various technology. PCs, Macs, iOS, android phone, desktop browser, windows task bar, etc. all use favicons to identify programs.

What is Make WordPress?

You may have come across or heard about Make WordPress and wondering what exactly this is. In general, Make WordPress is where you can become a part of the team and get involved with various areas of WordPress.

It is important to note that there are two forms of WordPress (, which is maintained by the company and staff of and Automattic, and, representative of the self-hosted version of WordPress).

Creating Clickable Images

There are many locations where clickable images are a valuable tool, such as front page images, icons, photo galleries, image information, etc. There are multiple ways of going about this process. I will be discussing how to add clickable images to your content posts and pages and also how to add them to your widgets.

Before I explain further, be sure that your image file is either your original image or is royalty and copyright free. Some copyrighted images can be used with proper citations depending on the owner’s specifications. There is also plenty of public domain photography available for your use. Also make sure that your image file has a distinct name like Purple Flowers, instead of a default title like IMG_2345, before uploading it into the media library.

SiteGround Web Host

Jeffro, of WP tavern, published a review about a web host site called SiteGround, which happens to be only a few months younger than WordPress. Both WordPress and SiteGround and  have based their web hosting companies around customer service. Jeffro discusses the differences between SiteGround and other web hosts and expands on the importance of customer service in a video series called Web Warriors.
