Jet Pack is a great plugin that allows WordPress.org user’s to access many great features all in one Plugin. WordPress.com users already have all of the features of Jet Pack integrated into WordPress.com. Jet Pack was released back in 2011, and it really was a special feature that many people were clamoring for!
Matt Mullenweg, co-founder of WordPress described it as a:
, “dream of mine…to provide feature parity between WordPress.com and WordPress.org for everybody.”
He shared this with us in his post called Jet Pack to the WP.com Cloud.
And now Jet Pack has had a makeover! There is a terrific improvement that has been made as well as a couple of great new feature that have been added to Jet Pack. Continue reading Jetpack WordPress Plugin Has Now Been Updated
Recently, founding developer of WordPress Matt Mullenweg announced that he and Automattic CEO Toni Schneider will be swapping roles with Schneider focusing on Automattic’s new products and Mullenweg taking the helm as CEO. WordPress has improved the “Human Time Difference” feature that displays on posts. Up to 60 days the posts will say “Posted 33 days ago” as before, but on posts older then 60 days instead of “Posted 3 months ago” the line will now display the exact date it was posted on, rather then an arbitrary month count. Themes had individually done this before, but this has now become a WordPress standard.

There isn’t a clear law for internet website accessibility due to the fact that the technology continues to grow at a rate that the law cannot keep up with year after year. However, even without clear website law, there is still ADA compliance that needs to be met or your website could be at risk for a lawsuit. WordPress 3.7 Beta 2 Released
WordPress 3.7 Beta 2 is out and ready for download. If you downloaded the Beta 1 then in theory Beta 2 should have updated automatically. This is still in development (a.k.a. lots of bugs!) so I do not recommend running this on your main site but to run it on another site or at least do not run on ones with high traffic.
The new features are as follows:
- Automatic background updates – so when beta 3 rolls around no need for another download!
- Search results – now ordered by relevance other than date.
- Password Meter – Strong passwords are important and this new meter will help get better passwords.
They need more beta testers so get on the downloading!
